Review: Skin Lightening Laser Treatment At Clifford Clinic on 13 Aug and 2 Nov 2015

When I was younger, I always thought that I won't get pigmentation since I was born with fair skin and no matter how much time I spent under the hot glaring sun.  I hated sunscreen as I find it too oily for my already oily skin.

Fast forward to many many years and sigh... I am plagued with many pigmentation especially on my cheekbone areas.

Thank god for The Clifford Clinic who came to my rescue!  After I discussed about my pigmentation issue with Dr Gerard Ee, he recommended skin lightening laser treatment for me to lightening the pigmentation.

The Clifford Clinic is located at 24 Raffles Place, #01-03 Clifford Centre, Singapore 048621.  It is accessible as the clinic is within walking distance from Raffles Place MRT.  There are a number of buses that pass by Shenton are as well.  If you drive, there are a few public carparks which you can park.  As for the timing, the clinic is open from Mon to Fri: 10am to 8pm, Sat: 10am to 2pm and Sun is closed.

Let's take a look at my face without makeup.  Pigmentation is obvious especially on my cheekbones.  Pigmentation is normally formed in the inner layer of the skin initially.  Our outermost layer of skin is constantly shedding and new layers will emerged.  When the new layers with pigmentation move to the outermost layer, the pigmentation will show.  So after years of neglecting my skin, I am suffering from the consequences.

 After a consultation with Dr Ee, we proceeded to the treatment room for the laser treatment.  First of all, he selected the right intensity for the lightening of pigmentation by using the screen attached to the laser machine.

Afterwhich, he proceeded to let me wear the protective eye cover to shield my eyes from the laser.

 Ok, here we go.  The procedure was not painful at all.  To me, it felt like rubber band snapping on my face lightly.  Those with extremely low threshold of pain can request for numbing cream to be applied on your faces.  But I preferred the laser to be directed on my skin without any other cream on my face.

After Dr Ee finished layering one side of my face, he proceeded to do the other side to lighten my pigmentation.

 The laser procedure was over within 15-20 mins and it is a great lunch hour skin treatment as you can just pop into the clinic during lunch hour and get out of the clinic to catch a quick bite before returning back to the office again.

Also, this treatment is non invasive, meaning that you can still face the public without any redness on your face.  All you need is some sunscreen to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.

A review of my face after treatment.  I can see that my face has taken a new found clarity and brightness.  The pigmentation has lightened although they are not completely gone as one time treatment won't eradicate the pigmentation totally.  For lightening of pigmentation, you will need more than one laser treatment definitely.  Those with severe pigmentation will need to go more often for this treatment.

I was back at The Clifford Clinic for my second skin lightening laser treatment.  Due to my busy schedule, I couldn't drop by every month to do this laser treatment hence I guessed my improvement would be slower.  It has been about 2 months since my first laser treatment, but surprisingly, my skin has taken on a clearer tone.  Thanks god for The Clifford Clinic and Dr Ee for this awesome skin treatment!

Botox Injection at The Clifford Clinic

I am a very blessed girl as I have The Clifford Clinic to help me maintain a youthful appearance, even though I lead a hectic lifestyle, with many late nights.

I visited The Clifford Clinic before for fillers to make my face fuller as I had a bit of sunken temple area and also to correct a short chin. (see: http://elaineheng.blogspot.sg/2015/07/juvederm-fillers-at-clifford-clinic-by.html)

Dr Gerard Ee is a very talented aesthetic doctor and gives more than 100% in what he does.
I was so happy with the results of the fillers that I decided to go back again to do something else. :)

A woman will age considerably when lines start to appear around her eyes, hence taking care of the skin around the eyes is extremely important.  No one can stop the aging process, just that we can slow it down.

Besides taking good care of the skin around the eyes by applying Lumiere De Vie eye balm which is available on www.SingaporeMart.com, I decided on a bit of botox to relax the skin around the eyes a bit so as not to stress the skin especially when I smile.

Hey, most women want to look younger than their actual age, so I guess I am not different from the rest.. hahaha!  I have never tried botox before so I was very eager to test it out and see the results.

The skin around my eyes before any botox injections were done.  My skin looked tired, with fine lines forming under the eye area... sigh.

Nowadays botox is very common, just like skin laser treatment.  You can whisk into the doctor's clinic during lunchtime and within a few minutes, you are done.

For those who are scared of pain, do not worry at all.  Botox injections are not painful.  To me, they were more like ant bites and Dr Gerard Ee uses an ice pack to numb the area where botox would be injected so that you would not feel much of the needle going in and the ant biting sensation.

Dr Gerard Ee also used a vibrator (*blush blush) to create light movement on the face so that you wouldn't know when the needle went in.  ok, a very innovative way of using a vibrator... hahaha!

Here we go... The first needle going in.

Dr Ee was very precise to ensure that we got the botox to the correct place.

See... I could still smile after my first needle of botox.  Now, it was time to move to the other eye.  Again, Dr Ee iced the area with the ice pack before any botox injection was done.

Again, the vibrator to the rescue... hahaha!

Preparing for the second injection.  Again, Dr Ee looked at the area to decide where would be the best place to inject the botox in before the needle went in.

The second needle was in before I even realised it.

ok, we were done.  Dr Gerard Ee mentioned that to see the effect of botox, I would need to wait patiently for 7 days.

I must say...this stuff is amazing, with no side effect as it only temporarily numbs and relaxes the facial muscles for a number of years.  In a way, you kinda 'stop' the ageing clock.

The lines around my eyes were not so obvious after a few weeks.

Fillers to Look Younger!

I have decided to go for fillers at The Clifford Clinic and undergo certain facial enhancements so that I can regain back my youthful look and make my features more defined as well.  As we age, we tend to lose collagen and the skin starts to sag.  Yes, I know we can't freeze our looks but we ladies still want to age gracefully.  Due to work, I normally sleep late at night and that accelerated the aging process... sob sob.  Hence I was very keen to see what Dr Gerard Ee from The Clifford Clinic can do for me.  Who knows... maybe he could turn back the clock to the time when I looked my best when I won the beauty pageant title, Ms Singapore International World 2008. :)

During the first consultation, Dr Ee did an analysis and he agreed that fillers would be the first step to go.  There are many types of fillers in the market and Dr Ee suggested Juvederm fillers, which help to restore facial volume by injection into the deep dermis, subcutaneously, by an authorized medical practitioner in accordance with local regulation.  So to do fillers, please go to an authorised and established clinic, like The Clifford Clinic.

You can enter the clinic along the pedestrian walkway outside Clifford Centre or you can enter from the entrance inside the building.  Very thoughtful indeed!  When I stepped in, I was in awe by the sophisticated and classy environment.  It felt very serene and perfect for people looking at enhancing themselves, with various aesthetics treatments.

See, even men feel comfortable to seek aesthetics treatments here.

A more private waiting area which is nicely done up.  Below are some of the rooms where various aesthetic treatments are done.  Again, very comfortable and most important, sparkling clean and hygienic.

 ok... my turn to go into the treatment room for juvederm fillers.... yeah!  And yes, this is Dr Gerard Ee, one of the founders of The Clifford Clinic.  Very talented aesthetic skin doctor who can tell immediately what type of aesthetic treatments you need to do in order to look pretty.  And it doesn't hurt that he is good looking too!

ok... start of the Juvederm fillers injection.  First, Dr Ee did some markings on my face, using a white coloured pencil, so that he knew where to inject the Juvederm fillers.  This is very important cos you won't want to end up having the volume somewhere else.

 Here we go... time for the filler injection.  Dr Ee assured me that it wouldn't be painful, so I was kinda relaxed when he prepared to do the injection.

The first shot of fillers into my temple where I have lost a lot of volume around that area over the years.  And yes, Dr Ee didn't lie to me. It was not painful at all.  I find that it is more like an ant bite.

I shall let the photos do the talking for those who want to see behind the scene photos to how I regained my youth back again.. lolx.

Tada! After injecting fillers on both sides of my face... I love the instant results... OMG!

Next, we moved on to the chin area.  I always hated my chin as I find it relatively short in comparison  to the rest of my features.  So we decided to do chin fillers too.

Gosh, I love my more defined chin after I got the chin fillers.  I can't believe my eyes!
