Media Invite: Aston Martin unveils the DB11: the latest in an illustrious bloodline on 1 Mar 2016

Guess where I was with my friends on 1 Mar 2016?  The partial image of a car behind probably will give you a clue. ;)

Yes, we were all at the simultaneous launch event of Aston Martin DB11 at the new landmark Aston Martin showroom on Leng Kee Road. DB11 was unveiled to audiences in both Geneva and Singapore at 21.00 SGT, a testament to Aston Martin's enduring global appeal.

So glad to catch up with all my friends at the Aston Martin launch.  All of us were so excited about DB11.

The DB11 made its global debut on 1st March 2016 at the 86th International Geneva Motor Show and all the invited guests were so lucky to get a close look at DB11.

Bobby Tonelli, celebrity DJ and actor, was the emcee for that night.

One of the only two DB11 at the moment, was covered up in black clothes, keeping us in suspense.

Mr Patrik Nilsson, Asia Pacific Regional Director for Aston Martin, was also in Singapore to give a speech before unveiling DB11.

The DB11 was unveiled by Mr Patrik Nilsson, Asia Pacific Regional Director for Aston Martin, and Mr Pang Cheong Yan, Managing Director, Prestige Division, Wearnes Automotive, in front of more than 200 illustrious guests and VIPs. The unveiling heralds a new chapter in Aston Martin‟s 103- year history, as DB11 is the first product launched under the company's "Second Century‟ plan.

The unveiling started at 21.00 SGT sharp.

Oh my goodness... Just look at this magnificent car!

I couldn't resist taking a photo with DB11.  This DB11 has such an amazing hue of red which is not overpowering and has an intriguing feel to it.

The DB11 showcases a fresh and distinctive design language, pioneering aerodynamics and a potent new in-house designed 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine. Built upon a new lighter, stronger, and more space efficient bonded aluminium structure, DB11 is the most powerful, most efficient and most dynamically gifted DB model in Aston Martin‟s history. As such it is the most significant new Aston Martin since the introduction of the DB9 in 2003.

In Dr Andy Palmer, Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer's words, he said “We aspire to make the most beautiful cars in the world. DB11 is the absolute embodiment of what an Aston Martin should be and we have worked tirelessly to ensure that DB11 combines both exceptional design with the latest technology throughout. A brand new bonded aluminium platform, clever aerodynamics, a new characterful twin-turbo V12 and class-leading infotainment systems are just a few aspects which make this the sports car that will proudly spearhead Aston Martin's second century plan.”

The DB11's heart is a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12. This new engine develops 608 PS1 (600 BHP1) and 700Nm1 of torque, making DB11 the most powerful production DB model ever. Naturally, it is the most dynamic and most accelerative too, with a top speed of 322km/h1 and a 0-100km/h time of just 3.9sec1

DB11 combines the very latest technology developed in conjunction with technical partner, Daimler, with the finest quality and hand craftsmanship. Using a full-colour 12” TFT LCD display, the all-new instrument cluster presents primary vehicle information with absolute clarity, while a second, centrally-mounted 8” TFT screen is dedicated to infotainment. Controlled via an intuitive rotary control, with an optional touchpad offering character recognition, multi-touch and gesture support, the new satellite navigation and audio system have never been more effective, sounded better or been easier to operate. A newly implemented auto-park assist feature and 360-degree birds-eye view camera, also operated via the car‟s infotainment system, ensures safe maneuvering at slow speeds.

This was one of those times when you didn't want to get out of a car.
