Newly Launched Bar Bites and Meat Special at Caffé B Bar

Jazzing up its existing Bar menu offerings, Caffé B introduces two new delightful additions – Bar Bites and Meat Special. From fans of finger foods to fans of juicy beef ribs, there will always be something to satisfy you at Caffé B Bar.

I was very fortunate to be one of the few from media to be invited by Caffé B and PR Communications to try the brand new Bar Bites menu.

Caffé B is a social dining and bar concept that marries the best of Italian culinary traditions with the artful finesse of Japanese culture. Strategically situated near the Convention Centre of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Caffé B offers contemporary, premium quality Italian cuisine with a Japanese touch in a friendly and relaxed setting, alongside fine Italian and unique Japanese wines.
A casual al fresco bar showcasing novel and signature Japanese-inspired cocktails lies directly above the restaurant, set against the stunning backdrop of Singapore’s cityscape and within walking distance from iconic business landmarks such as Raffles Place and Shenton Way.

A Bar Full of Bites

Caffé B offers fine Italian cuisine with a Japanese touch at the bar, with a selection of novel dishes to choose from.

Bringing the concept of communal and sharing plates, the new Bar Bites menu features a combination of creative and authentic Italian bites with 8 well-curated items to choose from. Highlights from the Bar Bites Menu include the following, starting from S$14++.

Let's take a good look at the 8 new items.

Beef Cheek Patty ($19)
Slow-cooked tenderised Beef Cheek in Red Wine, served with Bacon and Melted Red Cheddar Cheese. Topped with a generous serving of Rocket Salad, Roma Tomato, Glazed Beet Root, Sliced Red Onion and Japanese Roasted Sesame Sauce.
Pair this with a glass of Vignamaggio Gherardino Chianti CLassico DOCG 2013 to cleanse your palate.

I like the fact that the beef is super tender and soft.  For beef lovers who like that strong flavourful beef, this is it.  Do try to take a bit of the bacon, cheese, beet root, onion and sesame sauce together with a bit of the beef and eat it in one mouth to get that burst of texture and mixture of sweet, sour and savoury taste all mixed together.

Beef Tripe Burger ($20)
Turning an exotic offal into a culinary heritage, the braised tender beef tripe burger is packed with sliced Tomatoes, Green Salad, Gherkin Pickles, Banana Shallots, and Mozzarella.

I didn't get to try this that day as it wasn't available but here is a photo to whet your appetite.

Chicken & Japanese Leek Skewers ($14)
Grilled Chicken Skewers marinated with Yogurt, Paprika, Lemon Juice & Cajun. Served on Mesclun with Soya Vinaigrette.

This is a great dish for chicken breast lover as you can bite into thick chunks of chicken meat together with the leeks.  Pretty healthy I feel, although I am not a fan of chicken breast.

Crispy Maguro Taco ($15)
Freshly diced Maguro (Tuna) marinated in Yellow Miso in Crispy Taco shells that are made from scratch and baked to perfect crunchiness. Topped with sliced Avocado and shredded Vegetables tossed in Rice Vinegar.

Pair the taco with a glass of Il Pollenza Brianello Sauvignon Blanc, Trebbiano 2013 for the perfect bar bite experience with notes of summer-fruit and citrus scent.

I was surprised that the taco shell was still crispy even though I tried the rest of the dishes first before tasting this.  I thought it would become soggy after some time but it proved me wrong.

I like the fresh fruity taste which was super refreshing to the palette after trying the rest of the dishes.

Deep Fried Potato Skin ($16)
Savour in baked potato shells stuffed with a bountiful blend of Chili Con Carne atop Melted Cheese and topped with Coriander. Served with Sour Cream on the side.

I am not a big fan of potato skin but I believed for those who are, you will love this dish.  It is not so 'jalat' as it is not a whole piece of potato solely but it comes with toppings.

Smoked Salmon on Almond Biscuit ($15)
Slices of marinated Smoked Salmon with Garlic, Italian Parsley, Extra Virgin Olive Oil on thick chunks of buttery Almond Biscuits and Guacamole.
Pair this with a glass of La Tunella Colli Orientali del Friuli Pinot Grigio 2014 that complements the smoked salmon with its fruity and fragrant nose.

I like this as it is pretty daring to pair smoked salmon which is more towards the salty taste with almond biscuits which leans towards the sweet taste.

Miso Chilean White Cod Burger ($19)
Marinated cubes of chunky White Cod coated with Miso, Egg, Mirin and Bread Crumbs, tucked in a layer of Caramelised Onion, Tomato, Ricotta Cheese and Gherkin.

I love cod fish so when I saw this on the menu, I was like...YES!
The cod is sweet and soft and the bread is very well toasted and comes with an aromatic grilled fragrance which you can't achieve at home.  It would have been better if the sauce is a bit more.

Wagyu Rump Beef Burger ($24)
Sink into a grilled Wagyu Rump steak sandwiched between Sesame Buns slathered with Peanut Butter, topped with sliced Tomatoes, Caramelised Onions and Red Cheddar Cheese.
Pair this with a glass of La Tunella Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 to refresh your palate with its refreshing notes of fresh wild berries and plum.

This has gotta be my favourite out of the eight dishes!

The wagyu steak is so super tender that it kinda melts in your mouth.  I like the fact that the burger was juicy with the right amount of sauce.  The bun is heavenly!  It has that toasted grill aroma which smells so good.  You can smell it from afar... yummy!

Accompanying the Bar Bites menu at the bar, beverage choices are aplenty no matter your preferred tipple. Enjoy 1-for-1 Mojito cocktails*, or opt for house pour beers, specialised Japanese-styled cocktails, and a range of fine Italian Wines at the bar.

Meat Special

Incorporating the concept of sharing and indulgence, Caffé B is proud to introduce a heavyweight meat special – Charbroiled Fresh-herbed Oregano Prime Beef Ribs. Weighing in at a whopping 1,000 grams and priced at $200++, this meat special is good for sharing between 4-5 people in a group.

A feast for both the eyes and taste buds, guests can also marvel in a live carving demonstration of the prime rib roasts, into beautiful, even serving slices. Each portion is then served with sliced Tomato topped with Mozzarella Cheese and Micro Cress, fragrant truffle Mashed Potato, grilled whole Garlic, buttered Asparagus, and Veal Jus sizzled to perfection. Share a bottle of La Tunella Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 to pair with the meat special for the complete gastronomic experience.

Caffé B Bar offers diners both the eclectic skyline view of the Marina Bay Sands area and a cosy environment to relax and relish in the meat special that is prepared to order. That, is living the good life.
