SUZY Layer PERM and New Hair Colour by Kenjo Salon on 3 Nov 2016

I had long straight hair for the longest time so when my hairstylist, Soo Bin, from Kenjo Salon mentioned that she would like to give me a Korean hair perm this time round, I was a bit worried as I was very used to fuss free straight hair and the last time I permed my hair was more than 6 years ago.  But Soo Bin reassured me that the perm she would be creating is the latest trend in Korea now and she calls it the SUZY Layer PERM which is popularised by Miss A from Korean Group.  It is also fuss free.  Being game for a change of hairstyle, I agreed to go ahead since I was also tired of my current hairstyle too.

One last look before my straight hair was changed to curls.

For this perm, Soo Bin added more layers to my hair.  As curls look better on coloured hair than on black hair, Soo Bin decided to give my hair a change of colour from black to ash brown.  Again, if I can remember correctly, I didn’t colour my hair for at least 10 years so it was gonna be a huge change for me.

Couldn’t wait to see how the colour will turn out to be like on my hair.

Next up, Soo Bin proceeded to curl my hair using the rollers and connecting the rollers to a heat source.  

After certain timing, the rollers were removed and the top part of my hair was straightened using a flat iron.  After this step, a neutralising solution was applied to the hair to set the curls first before it was rinsed off.

After which the neutralising solution was washed off and my hair was shampooed and conditioned before it was blown dried.

Take a look at the curls!  I am loving this!  It has been a long time since I sported curls and it is a refreshing change for me, especially with the new hair colour.

Makeup and Hairstyling Services at Kenjo Salon on 23 Oct 2016

I can always count on Kenjo Salon to style my hair beautifully whenever I have major events to attend.  When I texted Joseph, the owner of Kenjo Salon, that I will be attending Mrs Singapore QOS Worldwide International 2016 Grand Finale as one of the judges and asked him if I could drop by on 23 Oct around 1pm to do my hairstyling, he immediately said ok to me.

On top of that, he mentioned that Kenjo Salon has started offering makeup services to clients and invited me to try out the makeup services that day too.

Some of the photos which I had taken were without makeup.  Please pardon my pale face.  Hope it is not too scary for anyone.

 Look at how my beautiful personal hairstylist Soo Bin skillfully used two hairdryers to dry my hair faster.

This requires a lot of skills to handle two hairdryers

Once my hair was dried, Soo Bin proceeded to curl my hair using a flat iron.

After my hair was curled, Soo Bin did backcombing to give my hair some volume before she proceeded to pin my hair to the style which she has designed for me.

 After the hairstyling, I proceeded to the makeup room to get my makeup done.

The makeup artiste did contouring for me so that my features will be more prominent.

After the makeup artiste finished contouring my nose, she proceeded to contour my cheekbones.

The makeup artiste applied false eyelashes so that my eyes will look more defined.

 Once my eye makeup was done, she proceeded to apply lipstick for me.

She went on to apply a pop of colour on my cheeks to make me look radiant and healthy.

I think every girl needs blusher to give the cheeks some dimension

Hair Styling at Kenjo Salon on 11 Aug 2016

Kenjo Salon is my go to hair salon for all my hair needs.  With a last minute watsapp message to Joseph, the owner of Kenjo Salon, he was able to slot me in for a hairstyling session before my evening event.

Here I was with my personal assigned hairstylist, Soo Bin.  She's so beautiful and sweet and always take good care of me and my hair whenever I am in Kenjo Salon.

Hairstyling at Kenjo Salon on 24 June 2016

I can't help but sing praises of my hair sponsor, Kenjo Hair Salon, for alway being there for me whenever I need any hair services.  I remembered I texted Joseph the hair salon owner just one day before 24 June 2016 and asked if I could drop by for a hair treatment as I would be attended a Hand Over Ball organised by Entrepreneur Organisation.

When i reached Kenjo Hair Salon that day, Joseph surprised me by saying he had arranged a hairstylist who is very experienced in hair styling to style my hair.... Yippee!

As I didn't have much time that day, I did a one step Mucota hair treatment instead of the usual 3 steps.  But I think it was already great enough to keep my hair soft and silky.

Followed by shampooing before rinsing away the shampoo.

 After applying Mucota hair treatment product onto my hair, the hair was steamed for the nutrients to be absorbed into the hair shafts.

Under the steamer for about 10 mins.

 After another run of rinsing, my wet hair was blown dried for the hair styling.

 I was trying to capture James, the hair stylist, in action.

My hair blocked him...sigh

 ok, I managed to capture a photo of James.  I must say, Kenjo Salon is made up of good looking hairstylists.  My usual assigned hair stylist, Soo Bin, was on leave together hence she couldn't work on my hair styling.  Soo Bin is a gorgeous Korean hairstylist and the first time I met her, I was like 'WOW... so pretty!

As Soo Bin was on leave that day, Joseph arranged for James to take over instead and oh my god... James is a good looker indeed.  He told me that he started to take up courses on hair cutting, hair styling and everything that is related to hair since age of 18 due to his interest.  Since young, he had to take care of his younger sister and he would tie her hair up nicely and he enjoyed that too.  That was why he decided to go into this trade.

 After discussion with James on the hairstyle that I preferred for that evening, we realised that both of us were thinking of going for plaits to channel a more carefree simple style instead of something over the top type of hairstyling.

And the braiding began
