I was extremely lucky to be one of the chosen few to attend the media briefing of a New Membership Services Club, Sky Premium on 31 Aug 2016.

When I received the invitation, I was very curious about what Sky Premium offers and at the same time, I looked forward to one of the highlights of the program, which was a live demonstration of the Bluefin Tuna Cutting Ceremony.  I gotta admit that I have never seen a bluefin tuna fish before and to cut it up, I reckoned it requires many years of experience and acquired skills to do it properly.

And I was so glad that I took time off to attend this very exclusive and interesting media briefing to learn more about Sky Premium.

A must-have photo at the photowall!

I also bumped into my blogger friends like William and Leong and Derrick, who took most of the photos in this blog post.  Thanks Derrick for the photos!

Notice all the different coloured envelopes on the photo wall?  In line with Sky Premium’s philosophy of being connected under one sky with one common theme for The Good Life, media friends also had a chance to pick out exciting privileges from a photo wall, unravelling their very own experience of The Good Life.

Lucky me got a one night staycation in Wanderlust Hotel... woohoo!  Thanks Sky Premium for this awesome doorgift!

The event saw a live presentation of a Bluefin tuna cutting ceremony where guests, partners and media friends got a glimpse into one of the many luxurious experiences Sky Premium has to offer.

Immersing in an afternoon reflective of The Good Life, Sky Premium delighted guests with a presentation of the Hon Maguro, also known as the Bluefin tuna cutting ceremony.

Weighing at a whopping 60kg, the tuna was air flown from sustainable sources in Uwajima prefecture, Japan, where the Maguro cutting was then performed with utmost skill and precision by Chef William Teo, head chef of Takujo Japanese Dining at Emporium Shokuhin together with his expert team of chefs. Utilizing four different sets of highly specialized knives to fillet the tuna, including one that resembles a samurai sword, the delectable Hon Maguro was artfully plated for guests in a platter of sashimi, sushi, maki and a 6-hour braised tuna head.

Just look at how enormous the bluefin tuna was!  It took two men to handle it.

Gotta do it step by step

Executive Chef skilfully sliced up the fish so that all the guests got to taste the fresh meat

That very important fish head that will braised for 6 hours!

Lunch menu for that day
Always great to be seated with a group of friends for lunch and this time round, these are my media friends.  From left: Derrick, myself, William, Leong, Jonathan and Jin.

Appetiser

We started off with an appetiser which was light on the palate as it comprised of vegetables.

Next up is the star of the lunch menu... bluefin tuna!

Nigiri sushi and maki rolls
Sakae is a must have with Japanese food!  Trying a rose sakae based on the recommendation from the server.  It has a tinge of sweetness so I reckoned it would be popular with the ladies.

I also had the chance to chat with Ms Margaret Koh, General Manager of Sky Premium.  She took the effort to work to our table to introduce herself and let us know more about Sky Premium.  That was when I found out that Sky Premium is also in Tokyo Japan, one of my favourite cities!

Margaret also said, “In a day and age where time is such a commodity, we often miss out and get caught up in a daily routine of things. Sky Premium offers that very balance and luxury of time, to enjoy affordable luxury in the pursuit of living the good life. I’m delighted that we had the opportunity to showcase a novel art form of the Hon Maguroa first-hand glimpse into some of the many luxurious experiences that Sky Premium has to offer. And we hope to continue bringing the good life experiences to more of our members in the coming months ahead.”

Panel advisors of Sky Premium, Allan Wu, renowned celebrity in Southeast Asia; and fashion- forward lawyer, Tan Min-Li, also warmly welcomed guests during the media briefing session.

Shanghai Tang a premier luxury lifestyle brand from China, hosted its first ever fashion show in Singapore to celebrate the global launch of its Spring Summer 2016 collection on 3 Mar 2016.

Held on 03 March 2016 at one of Singapore’s most historical landmarks, The Clifford Pier located at The Fullerton Bay Hotel, the fashion show was attended by over 400 well- heeled society and fashion elite.

I was glad to be one of the few to check out Shanghai Tang Spring Summer 2016 collection.

Among the guests were society doyennes Susanna Han and Grace Chng, award-winning artistic director Ivan Heng, as well as celebrities Shane Pow, Paul Foster, Oon Shu An, Sheila Sim and Ase Wang.

Photo-time with some of the celebrities at the fashion show.

The grand hall of the Clifford Pier was transformed into a fashion runway where 25 models strutted down in the latest Spring Summer 2016 collection.

As the global curator of modern Chinese aesthetics, Shanghai Tang celebrates the season with a glorious fusion between the Orient and the West.

I sat there waiting in anticipation for the fashion show to start.

The Spring Summer 2016 women’s collection radiates pure optimism with whites, brights and patterns that burst with summer vibrancy.

Vivid fabrics of Mao Tribe are reinterpreted into layers of contrasting brights, graphic shapes and embroideries.

Pure Sophistication triumphs with bright, carefree, cruise-inspired pieces with clean silhouettes, lavish gemstones and stud embellishments.

1960s nostalgia comes to play with a palette of bright pastels, paired with warm neutrals and giant pop art florals in summer shades, as well as big bold prints on simple silhouettes.

The evening wear pieces were stunning to the max.

The Spring Summer 2016 men’s collection features a playful mix of formal and everyday, where bright colours go to the boardroom and suiting goes weekend.

Summer sunshine brings a new confidence with a return to statement patterns for men. Wild, freeform graphics and large geometrics add attitude to a classic two-piece suit.

Riviera chic infiltrates the boardroom with crisp spring tailoring.

Laidback weekend suiting and deconstructed blazers update the office in playful ink blue, aqua and green.

Below are some more photos which i took during the fashion show.

When I saw CH Carolina Herrera Spring Inspiration mailer invitation from Elle Singapore magazine, I was attracted by the photo immediately.  I told myself that this was an event that I wouldn't want to miss.  I fell in love with the two dresses which the female models were wearing in the mailer.  Simply love that romantic yet sexy look that shows off the legs.

Here I was at CH Carolina Herrera Spring Inspiration Event on 24 March 2016.  It was a showcase of its Spring 2016 collection at the flagship store located in Marina Bay Sands Shoppes L1-19, Bay Level.  As I was there early, I got the opportunity to browse through the collection which includes apparels and accessories for women, men and kids(up to 10 years old).

The boutique manager, Lerine, walked me through the boutique, while going through the concept of the flagship store.  Founder Carolina Herrera wanted a cozy relaxed feel for customers to browse through the items available as if they were in their own apartments.  Hence part of the boutique is designed as a walk-in wardrobe, which is a dream to most ladies.

Mrs Herrera started Carolina Herrera New York in 1981 and in 2001, CH Carolina Herrera was formed as a lifestyle brand offering ready-to-wear and accessories for men, women and kids.

This has gotta be my favourite section of the boutique, showcasing CH's collection of evening wear, a display of brilliant use of colours with lots of volume and structure.

The section offers a selection of corporate wear which is versatile enough for ladies to wear for an evening night out after work.

The men won't feel left out as well, as CH dedicated a section for men's wear, where the guys can pick from a good selection of polo tees, shirts, casual wear, formal jacket suits, etc.

A good selection of jackets with a range of colours to choose from.

I was surprised that CH also offers accessories for horse riding.  Amazing!

Even though apparels are the main focus for the event, I also checked out their accessories, which includes wallets, cufflinks, luggage tags, bags, shoes and even home accessories like aromatic candles.

I love how the boutique was designed to subtly showcase the brand, be it as part of the table display or on the ceiling.

I bumped into two friends, Simone and Celestia at the event. Hi gals, good to meet up with you again!

The highlight of that night's event was the mini fashion showcase.  Renowned fashion stylist Furqan Saini was there to go through some pieces of the collection that shows texture, volume, colour and print.

Amazing use of green on this set of apparels which has an off shoulder design to give you a tinge of sexiness.  The two knots impact a feminine appeal to the top and pants.

Next up is a red dress with zig zag prints and a tie belt, meaning that you can either go for a look with the belt for a more casual style or tie the belt for a more shaped up style.

Farhan showed us how to change the look by throwing on a black casual outer wear for a weekend getaway or catch up with friends over tea.

This look rocked the house!  For ladies who are looking for corporate wear but yet do not want to settle for the usual boring black jacket suits, this style offers something out of the norm yet formal enough for ladies to carry off in the office.

The look when the jacket was hocked up.  Cindy, Country Manager of CH, was discussing with me how this jacket can be used for casual days off when matched with denim jeans.  Cool!

A very classy elegant look greeted the guests when the model came out with a knee length dress and a long jacket.

A great option for the office and all a lady needs to do is to remove the jacket for an evening night out.  Very versatile indeed!

A very feminine look combined with yellow floral prints set against a contrasting black.  A pair of straight cut 3/4 pants sets a casual feel.

The showstopper for that evening. CH's signature look - long voluminous skirt with a classic white chiffon shirt.  It makes a lady look so effortlessly put together, channeling elegance and charm.

Thanks Carolina Hererra and Elle Singapore for the kind invite to check out CH's Spring 2016 collection!
