[Beauty Review] Visit to Elevatione Time Stops by Salvador Dali on 13 April 2017

When I first heard of Elevatione Time Stops by Salvador Dali, I was surprised that Salvador Dali, a prolific artists of the twentieth century, actually endorsed for skincare and cosmetics.

After I visited the outlet located at 333A Orchard Road Mandarin Gallery #01-17, I finally realised that all the creations are inspired by the "melting" clock painting by Salvador Dali.  In his honour, Elevatione will stop time, send the clock’s hands ticking backwards and allow women worldwide to control their own destiny. 

Elevatione Time Stops by Salvador Dali was a brand born and manufactured in Israel, 2013.

It is a global luxury skincare and cosmetics brand with presence in London, USA, Hong Kong and Singapore. 

You can walk into the store and the friendly staff will assist you to find out which products are suitable for you.  There is a machine that analyses your skin type, the melanin level, bacteria level, the level of sagginess of the face, etc.  

It was very interesting to see the results of the scan and it made me realised how important it is to take good care of my skin.

Elevatione Time Stops by Salvador Dali has six ranges of products, namely Preserve Your Youth, Repair Your Youth, Body Art, Pearls, Travel Kit and Special Kits.

Preserve Your Youth Series is a range of skincare products meant for below age 45.  

The products have the following functions:

 Another item I was fascinated with would be this skincare device that helps to improve on the absorption of skincare products into the skin and at the same time, helps to improve on the tone and texture of the skin.

Ok, let me test the device out because I had fallen in love with the limited edition Swarovski studded device!  It felt so glamorous just holding onto it... lol!

The store also offers facial services and you can choose between single room or couple room.  Both type of rooms offer great privacy and cozy environment that you might just fall asleep while having your facial.

[Food Review] 11-Course Dim Sum Menu at Tien Court on 3 May 2017

Nothing more satisfying than to have a meal with your loved ones so here we were at Tien Court located at the 2nd floor of Copthorne King's Hotel to try out a 11-course dim sum menu specially curated by Tien Court.  This was also meant as an early Mother's Day celebration for me and my mum.

Tien Court reserved a private room for us so that we could enjoy the food in a quiet and private environment.

The private room was super huge and the boys were so excited about having such a big space to 'play' that they started running all over the place till I had to tell them sternly to sit down... hahaha!

Tien Court has a few private rooms so if you want to do a celebration but away from the crowd in the common hall, it would be a better idea to go for the private room instead.

The room was super comfortable with warm lightings and proper cutlery specially arranged on the table before we came.

Steamed Prawn Dumpling with Crab Meat and "Dou Miao"

The colour itself was already very intriguing and after I took a bite, I was amazed that I could taste the freshness of the crab meat without the overwhelming "dou miao' vegetable taste.  It was a well balanced execution by the chef.

Steamed Dumpling with Wild Mushrooms

Very crunchy texture in comparison with the soft skin.  I love the fact that the translucency of the skin allowed you to see the mixture of mushrooms inside the dumplings.

Steamed Barbecued Pork Bun

 Do not be deceived by the simple appearance of the bun cos it was so soft on the outside, yet so juicy on the inside.  I love this type of bun where it opens up instead of the close version.  My advice is to eat this when it is still piping hot so that you can taste the soft juicy combination.

Steamed Malay Cake

Another simple dish but again, I was impressed by that slight buttery fragrance which accompanied every bite.  It was light and fluffy as well.

Steamed Rice Roll Stuffed with Prawn

Crunchy prawns were stuffed inside to provide a wonderful contrast to the soft texture of the rice roll.  The sauce was just nicely salted to provide a balance to the overall taste.

Deep-fried Spring Roll with Golden Garden Garlic

 At first i thought, 'What was so specially about a spring roll?'  But when I took my first bite, I was won over by the crunch of the skin, without it being too oily.  Initially both me and my mum thought that vegetables were wrapped inside but to our surprise, there were prawns inside instead.  Best part was that the prawns were not minced so that we can taste the freshness of the whole prawns.

Deep-fried Duck Meat Dumpling with Yam Paste

As a Teochew, this dish was one of my favorite.  The duck meat was soft and the net like wrapping was crispy.

Deep-fried Savoury Dumpling with Chicken Meat

Aesthetically, this dish definitely won hands down and garnered many gasps around the table.  Just look at those cuties... I didn't bear to eat them.

Steamed Shark's Fun Dumpling with Winter Melon in Superior Broth

My favourite dish... it was so sweet with the natural flavoring from all the ingredients.  I liked the fact that the soup was served over a warmer, so that while we were drinking the soup, it was kept warm by the tea light.

Wok-fried Fine Rice Vermicelli with Stewed Pig's Trotter

By the time this dish was served, we were all very full but I still tried this dish and was impressed by the 'wok hei' taste.  Also, the restaurant used freshly stewed pig's trotter instead of those from cans, hence the meat was soft and tender.

Chilled Cream of Mango with Pomelo and Sago

As a dessert lover, I would definitely leave space in my stomach for this traditional evergreen dessert.  Well, it didn't fail me... I loved the sweet yet tangy flavour due to the combination of the ingredients.

My parents were heaping praises for the food served and both were so full at the end of the 11 course menu.  See my dad even showed a thumb-up for the food!

Review of HIFU Sygmalift Treatment at The Clifford Clinic on 25 April 2017

Most people think that I am in my late 20s or early 30s but the truth is... I am much older than that!  Looking at the mirror everyday, I can tell that the skin is getting loose.  Beneath the makeup is a tired and sagging face.

Hence, when Dr Gerard Ee of The Clifford Clinic told me that the clinic has a new and improved machine that works better than the 1st generation of machine for HIFU treatment, I couldn't wait to test it out.

HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound and this treatment creates the effect of a facelift but without undergo any surgery.  I did HIFU about 2 years ago and it was a painful experience.  Well, I was thinking if I want to look younger, a bit of pain is really nothing.  But to ask me to undergo the HIFU treatment again with the 1st generation of machine, I would think twice.

Thank goodness for the improvement in technology, the new HIFU Sygmalift is able to provide a painless, injection-free and surgical-free experience, with no downtime at all!

Let's take a look at my before photos first.  See how the outer corners of my eyes look so droopy.  Really very depressing to see such photos.

 If you look closely, my right side of my face is actually more sagging than the left side of my face.  I was hoping that HIFU Sygmalift can help to correct this.

I understand from Dr Ee that this machine is perfect for reducing saggy cheeks, crow's feet, jowl reduction and laugh lines as it uses beams of ultrasound energy that heat the dermis to stimulate collagen production.

 Dr Eee also told me that this machine can help to melt facial fats resulting in a more V-shaped jawline.  For those who are troubled by chubby cheeks, you could try this machine too.

I requested not to have the fat melting function added into the treatment as I didn't have much facial fats on the face.

There are three probes for different functions, namely:

• Focal lines of US for modelling
• Micro focal ultrasound for lifting
• Cold laser for toning and glow

The therapist started the treatment after applying some gel on my face.  It was true.... there was totally no pain at all!

The treatment was so comfortable that I wanted to fall asleep on the bed... lol.

I mentioned to the therapist that the right side of my face was more saggy than the left side, hence she spent more time on my right side so that my face would look balanced after the treatment.

 The therapist did the right side of my face first to show me the difference.

This is the photo taken after Sygmalift was done on the right side of my face.  Let's compare it with the photo below which was taken before Sygmalift.

Can you tell that the outer corner of my right eye was more lifted up compared to before the treatment?  I was so happy that my face looked more balanced.  The therapist proceeded to work on the left side of my face to give my face the much needed lift.

I love HIFU Sygmalift for its facelifting and facial rejuvenation effect, without any pain.  Everyone should try this cos it helps to make you look younger and fresher.  No one will know that you did a facelift as there is absolutely no downtime... great for busy people who can't take leave from work.
